The project consisted in performing the mechanical and electrical works required to bring the turbines to ready for commissioning status. By 24th of November each of the 11 turbines had succesfully undergone a first function testing.

Currently the finishing works are being carried out and are expected to be finalized mid of January. As soon as the substation is operational, Corporate Energies will proceed with comissioning the turbines.

In the same period Corporate Energies carried out detailed inspection and repair works on turbines in two further wind farms in Azerbaijan. Two Vestas V52 turbines and 3 PowerWind PW56 turbines were subject to these works, which are part of the master plan developed consequently to the outcome of the base line analysis conducted between July and September 2014 on a 58 MW wind energy portfolio in the country.

Alternative and renewable energy in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan is considered one of the most important regions in the world for oil exploration and development. By 2020 the Azerbaijan government plans to increase its share of renewable energy sources to 9.7 percent of its total energy consumption, which is three times higher than today's rates. This goal is part of its recently approved plan National Strategy for the Development of Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources in 2012-2020.
